Admin Guide

This guide covers everything you need to know about installing Facetify, managing your subscription, and configuring filters and sorting options for your store.

Installation

Install Facetify from the Shopify App Store and wait for your products to sync. Most stores are ready to go in under 5 minutes.

Step 1: Install from App Store

Find Facetify in the Shopify App Store and click "Install". You'll be asked to approve the following permissions:

Permissions Explained
  • Products - To index and search your catalog
  • Orders - To rank products by sales data
  • Markets - To support multi-currency and localization

Step 2: Subscribe to billing plan.

Go to the billing section in the facetify app and subscribe to the pay as you go billing plan. Here you can set a cap limit for your maximum monthly cost. You can raise this amount at a later time.

Important

Facetify will stop to work if your usage exceeds the selected cap limit for a month.

Step 3: Wait for Product Sync

After installation and subscribing to the billing plan, Facetify automatically syncs your products. This happens in the background and you can track progress on the dashboard.

Catalog SizeTypical Sync Time
Under 1,000 products1-2 minutes
1,000 - 10,000 products2-5 minutes
10,000 - 50,000 products5-15 minutes
50,000+ products15-30 minutes

Once sync is complete, you'll see "All products synced" with a green checkmark on the Facetify dashboard.

Subscription & Billing

Facetify uses simple pay-as-you-go pricing. You only pay for what you use, with no upfront commitments.

Pricing

Usage is billed at $0.25 per 1,000 requests and $0.01 per 1,000 documents/day

  • Search requests - When customers search or filters
  • Autocomplete - Search suggestions as customers type
  • Recommendations - Product suggestions
  • Product indexing - Keeping your catalog synced in real time

Usage Cap

Set a monthly usage cap to control your spending. Choose from $25, $250, $500, or $1,000 per month. You'll receive alerts when approaching your cap.

Manage Your Subscription

View detailed usage, adjust your cap, or manage your subscription in the Facetify app under Apps → Facetify → Billing.

Filter Configuration

Facetify automatically detects your product attributes and creates filters. You can customize which filters appear, their order, and add translations.

Managing Filters

Access filter configuration at Apps → Facetify → Filters.

Reorder Filters

Drag and drop filters to change the order they appear on your storefront. The topmost filter appears first in the filter sidebar.

Enable/Disable Filters

Use the toggle switch next to each filter to show or hide it. Disabled filters won't appear on your storefront but remain available to re-enable later.

Edit Filter Labels

Click on a filter's label to edit it inline. This changes how the filter name appears to customers.

Adding Metafield Filters

Beyond standard filters (vendor, product type, tags, options), you can add filters based on your product or variant metafields.

1
Scroll to Available Metafields
At the bottom of the Filters page, find the "Available Metafields" section
2
Click Add
Click the "Add" button next to any metafield you want as a filter
3
Save Changes
Click "Save" to apply your changes

Filter Translations

If your store supports multiple languages, you can translate filter labels for each language.

1
Click Manage
Click the "Manage" button on any filter to open its detail page
2
Enter Translations
In the "Filter Label" tab, enter translations for each language your store supports
3
Save
Click "Save" to apply translations

Value Grouping

Sometimes product data contains variations of the same value (like "White", "Wht", "WHITE"). Value grouping lets you merge these into a single canonical value that customers see.

1
Open Value Grouping Tab
On the filter detail page, click the "Value Grouping" tab
2
Select Values to Group
In the "Ungrouped Values" section, check the values you want to combine
3
Create Group
Click "Create Group", enter a display name (e.g., "White"), and optionally add translations
Example: Color Grouping

If your products have colors like "Wht", "White", "WHT", and "white", create a group called "White" and add all variations. Customers will see only "White" in the filter, but it will match all the underlying values.

Sort Configuration

Configure which sort options appear and in what order. You can also set the default sort and add translations.

Managing Sort Options

Access sort configuration at Apps → Facetify → Sorting.

Reorder Sort Options

Drag and drop to change the order sort options appear in the dropdown. The topmost option appears first.

Enable/Disable Sort Options

Toggle sort options on or off. Disabled options won't appear in the sort dropdown on your storefront.

Set Default Sort

Click the radio button next to a sort option to make it the default. This is the sort order customers see when they first visit a collection.

Important

Exactly one sort option must be set as the default. You cannot save without selecting a default.

Sort Translations

Click the "Translate" button on any sort option to add translations for each language your store supports.
